Best Deviled Eggs Ever

These are so good you'll want to double the recipe because they'll be the first to go. I created this recipe to take to work for luncheons. The first time I brought them in they were gone in a flash and after that always had a request for them.

Remove egg yolks and place them in a small bowl. Mash them with a fork. Add mayonnaise, mustard, horseradish, bacon bits, salt, pepper and mix well. Refill egg whites with yolk mixture. Lightly sprinkle paprika over eggs. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let chill for at least an hour.

  • I usually have to triple the recipe. I belong to a Square Dance club and the first time I brought I had only doubled the batch. They were gone in no time. I now use a triple batch, but without the bacon bits. There were too many people who like the eggs, but not the bacon. Now if I show up to a dance without the eggs, I am in big trouble.

  • By the thick part I mean the part inside the area you will stuff. not the point itself!

  • I am often asked to take deviled eggs to functions and have a hint to offer. Mash up at least one whole egg and use a grapefruit spoon to cut off the "thick" white on the "pointy" end and mash that. Gives you extra filling so you can really mound it on.. Other things good in them: olives, sweet pickle, finely minced onion.
