Best Ever Lemonade

(3 votes) 3 3

Enjoy the best, most intensely flavored lemonade ever! A slow food recipe combining initial prep work and effortless beautiful, tasty beverage after a week or so of waiting for the flavors to combine. The mix will keep under refrigeration forever it seems so long as not even a drop of water contaminates it.

Using a kitchen mandoline, thinly slice a few lemons so they are as close to paper thin as possible. Place each sliced lemon in a bowl and cover with sugar, mixing well to coat all cut surfaces. Continue slicing and sugaring until you have reached the capacity of a covered container. After a few days on the counter when the sugar has turned to thick liquid, give a last stir and place in refrigerator. At the end of a week, your lemonade mix is ready to begin use. Just place a tablespoon of lemon slices and syrup in a tall glass, fill with ice and water.  This works to make lemonade by the pitcher also.

  • Tried the "Best Lemonade Ever." I followed the directions but the taste is bland. Even if I add sugar to my glass, it still doesn't taste right. It was a waste of lemons----do not know what I did wrong!

  • If you were asking about Splenda, suggest you use that for killing ants, and use organic real sugar, raw honey, or even organic cane syrup to make the lemonade. Enjoy in good health!
