  • 5 Tbs. butter, softened (unsalted)
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 C. whole milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • For the glaze:
  • 1/2 C. whole milk
  • 2 C. confectionery sugar
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 3 tbsp. sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a doughnut pan, or a muffin pan. In a mixer combine butter, sugar, egg, 1/2 cup milk, and vanilla extract. The dough should look lumpy. Add salt and baking powder. Slowly add the flour. Continue mixing until combined. Fill the tins halfway with batter. Bake for 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Mix remaining 1/2 cup of milk with almond extract and confectionery sugar to create the glaze. Glaze doughnuts and top with sugar.
