Bourbon Baked Beans

Add 3/4 C. of bourbon to this recipe for baked beans to add a punch of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 5 slices bacon
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 8 cans (16 ounces, each) pork and beans, drained
  • 1 C. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 C. ketchup
  • 3/4 C. bourbon
  • 1/2 C. molasses
  • 2 Tbs. dry mustard
  • 2 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat until cooked but not crisp. Drain on paper towels; set aside. Add onions to drippings in skillet. Sauté over medium heat until translucent. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer, stirring to combine. Pour into 4 qt. casserole. Top with bacon. Bake, uncovered, 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Makes 16 to 20 Servings.
