This dessert isn't like any other strawberry parfait you've ever had before. In fact, with a hint of bourbon mixed with ricotta cheese and vanilla, it'll probably be the best one you've ever tried. This recipe is delicious even without bourbon.

  • 4 C strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 C granulated sugar
  • 1 C ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 C cream cheese
  • 1/4 C powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbs. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 C bourbon
  • 1 C cookie crumbs
  • Cocoa powder, as needed

Place 2 cups of strawberry slices and granulated sugar in a blender and process until smooth. Set aside.

Combine ricotta, cream cheese, powdered sugar, water, vanilla and bourbon in a medium bowl and stir.

Spoon 2 tablespoons cookie crumbs into 4 parfait glasses. Top each portion with 2 tablespoons strawberry puree, 1/4 cup strawberry slices and 3 tablespoons ricotta mixture. Repeat remaining layers. Sprinkle with cocoa powder.

Chill for 2 hours and serve.
