Bread Pudding

Choose your favorite fresh fruit to incorporate into this classic dish.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz. dry bread
  • 7 oz. sugar for caramel
  • 18 oz. sugar
  • 12 C. milk
  • 7 oz. melted butter
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. cinnamon or nutmeg
  • 1/2 C. sour cream
  • 2 lb. fresh fruit of your choice

Directions

Soak bread and milk until moistened. Combine with butter, sugar and sour cream. Mix in the fruits. With the sugar, make a light caramel and pour half in the bottom of a half sheet pan. Evenly distribute the pudding over the sheet pan and pour the left over caramel over the top. Bake in a 300 degree oven for 1 1/2 hour. Serve warm with a vanilla ice cream.
