  • 3 C. uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 4 C. fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/2 C. butter, cubed
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 2 1/2 C. shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 C. crushed crackers

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cook the macaroni according to the directions. Add the broccoli in the last 4 minutes and drain. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour, garlic powder, onion, powder, pepper, and salt. Slowly add the evaporated milk and bring to a boil. Cook and stir 2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and add 2 cups of cheese. Place half the mixture in a large baking dish and top with half the cheese sauce. Repeat in layers and sprinkle on the cracker crumbs. Bake 20 minutes until bubbly.
