Brock's Best Mullled Wine
Ingredients
- 1/3 C. sugar
- 1/3 C. water
- 1 dozen whole cloves
- 1 1/2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 nutmeg, crushed
- Peel of 1 small lemon
- Peel of half an orange
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 1 C. lemon juice
Directions
In a saucepan, boil the sugar and water for 5 minutes. Add the cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg and let the mixture soak overnight. Strain and return to a saucepan. Grate the thin outer layer of the lemon and orange peels to make a zest. Then add the zest, wine, and lemon juice to the sugar mixture. Heat thoroughly and serve.
