  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • ½ C. dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ C. milk
  • ½ C. molasses
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 C. flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • Dash salt
  • 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. ginger
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • Dash allspice
  • Vanilla frosting to top

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, use a mixer to beat together butter and brown sugar until creamy. Mix in egg, milk, molasses, and vanilla until well combined. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. Gradually mix in the flour mixture into your batter until fully incorporated. Spoon batter into cupcake liners and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely and then frost and decorate.
