Butter Buns

This is a quick yeast-bread recipe that produces light, tasty rolls, and especially handy when you don't have time to make a conventional yeast roll for dinner.

  • 2/3 C. warm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 C. Crisco butter flavor shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 2/3 C. flour

In a bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1 c. flour. Mix well. Add remaining flour and mix until smooth. Fill greased muffin tins half full. Allow batter to rise in a warm place until doubled. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

Yield: 1 dozenĀ
