These simple cookies are a great tea-party choice since they pair well with most teas.

Ingredients

  • 1 C. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 C. sugar, 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 C. flour, colored sugar

Directions

Cream butter, sugar and cream cheese. Add vanilla and flour. Form dough into a long roll and coat with colored sugar. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill until firm. Cut in slices about 1/4" thick and bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes.

  • The cookies didn't set very well. I had to freeze the dough to make it not completely sticky. They spread too much on baking as well, but the taste was good, maybe a little more flour to set better?
