Butter Stuffed Burger
Serving Size / Yield
- 4 oz softened butter
- 3 Tbs chopped basil
- 2 Tbs chopped oregano
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 2 lbs ground beef
- Swiss cheese slices
- Burger buns
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Finely sliced carrots
- Finley sliced lettuce
Preparing the Butter:
In a bowl, mix the softened butter together with the basil, oregano and ground pepper.
Once the ingredients are well mixed. Spread the butter mixture on a wax paper sheet, roll it up into a log and let it re-solidify in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Making the burger:
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Take out the now solid butter and carefully slice it into circles and leave aside.
Place the ground beef in a bowl and mix it with some salt and pepper.
Once the meat is seasoned, form a palm-sized patty and add one slice of the butter mixture in the middle of the patty and close it with another patty. Seal the sides and set aside.
Repeat until you’ve finished all the meat and butter slices.
Place the stuffed patties on the grill for 6-8 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Just before you remove the patties, add a slice of Swiss cheese on top and let it melt.
Meanwhile, in a pan caramelize the onions and tomato slices. Then set aside.
Also add a few burger buns on the grill to get them warm and toasted.
Finally, place the toasted bun on a plate, add the sliced carrots and lettuce at the bottom, layer it with the stuffed patty, add a slice of tomato, some caramelized onions and top it off with the bun. Enjoy!
