Buttermilk Soda Bread
Serving Size / Yield
- 500g plain flour
- 1 ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 400ml buttermilk. It can be substituted with yogurt
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- Milk, if necessary
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius
Pour the flour in a large bowl and add the bicarbonate of soda with salt. Stir
Add in the buttermilk and properly mix to form a dough.
Start kneading while gradually pouring milk to ensure it is not too dry or wet.
Form a dough and place it on the baking sheet
Flatten to ensure it is not too thick
Make a cross on the dough
Bake for ½ an hour
Cool and ready to serve.
