Butterscotch Sauce

Butterscotch Sauce

This sauce is wonderful added on top of ice cream and pound cake, or whatever you may choose.

Ingredients

  • 1 C. dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 C. light corn syrup
  • 4 Tbs. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 C. heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 C. milk
  • 1 tsp, cornstarch

Directions

Boil the sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a heavy saucepan. Bring to 230 degrees. Mix cream, milk and cornstarch until well blended. Add to syrup. Blend well, over lowered heat, until smooth.

Note: Sauce will thicken as it cools.
