These pears are poached in a crockpot and cooked with ginger and cinnamon to make them sweet and a little spicy. Drizzle these pears with the sauce that comes from the pears for an even better taste.

  • 3 C. water
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 10 slices fresh ginger
  • 2 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Tbs. candied ginger, chopped
  • 6 Bosc or Anjou pears, peeled and cored

In a crockpot, combine the water, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and candied ginger. Add the pears and cover. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. Remove the pears and cook the syrup for 30 minutes uncovered, or until it thickens.
