These fudge brownies need to be paired with a caramel sauce in order to have the most perfect brownie a la mode. Scoop vanilla ice cream on top of each brownie.

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 2 oz. chocolate, unsweetened
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 C. miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
  • Caramel Sauce:
  • 1 C. ounce package vanilla caramels
  • 2 Tbs. milk
  • Vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven at 350 degree F. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate. Mix in sugar, eggs and vanilla until combined. Stir in flour. Spread batter on a greased 9-by-9-by-2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle batter with chocolate pieces. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack.

For caramel sauce, mix caramels and milk in a small saucepan. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until smooth. Cut brownies into bars of your desired size. Place a scoop of ice cream on top of each brownie and drizzle with caramel sauce.
