What could make a simple cheese fondue recipe even better? A little bit of beer and a little bit of bacon. Okay, maybe we're adding a little bite more than just a pinch. The result is delicious, and will have your guests begging for the recipe!

  • 1 Tbsp unsalted Butter
  • 6 strips cooked bacon, chopped finely
  • 1 med. yellow onion, minced or grated
  • 1 Tbsp All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Lager Beer
  • 1 cup Grated Gruyere Cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Gouda Cheese
  • ΒΌ tsp Nutmeg

Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Saute onion until golden and add the cooked bacon. Add flour. Cook for 2 minutes, and continuously stir until thickened.
Add cheeses to the sauce in small handfuls, continuously stirring. When well melted, transfer to a crockpot on the warm setting or a fondue pot and serve with dipping items of choice.
