Cheese Fondue with Bacon and Beer
Serving Size / Yield
- 1 Tbsp unsalted Butter
- 6 strips cooked bacon, chopped finely
- 1 med. yellow onion, minced or grated
- 1 Tbsp All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup Lager Beer
- 1 cup Grated Gruyere Cheese
- 1 cup Grated Gouda Cheese
- ¼ tsp Nutmeg
Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Saute onion until golden and add the cooked bacon. Add flour. Cook for 2 minutes, and continuously stir until thickened.
Add cheeses to the sauce in small handfuls, continuously stirring. When well melted, transfer to a crockpot on the warm setting or a fondue pot and serve with dipping items of choice.
