Ground beef was made for a recipe like this. In under half an hour, you can get this scrumptious and simple casserole on your table. For fun, add in a new cheese in addition to cheddar for a multi-layered, flavorful dish.

  • 2 C. Ground beef
  • 1/4 C. Water
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter (or margarine)
  • 3 C. Water
  • 2 tsp. Instant beef bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp. Dried parsley flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 2 oz. American cheese, shredded

In a saucepan, combine frozen Ground Meat Mix*, 1/4 cup of water, and garlic. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes. Break up meat mixture with a fork. Cover and cook 5 minutes longer. Drain off liquid. Remove from pan and set aside. Stir in water, bouillon granules, parsley flakes, and salt. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in meat mixture. Turn into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and cover. bake in a 325 F oven for 45 minutes, stirring twice. Sprinkle shredded cheese over casserole. Bake uncovered, about 5 minutes longer or until cheese melts.
