  • 3 lb. baking potatoes, cubed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 3/4 C. whole milk
  • 1/4 C. butter
  • 1/3 C. sour cream
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/3 C. sharp cheddar cheese

Put the potatoes and bay leaf in the crockpot. Pour the broth on top and cook on low for 8 hours. Drain the cooking liquid and remove the bay leaf. Mash the potatoes and mix in the remaining ingredients until smooth. Garnish with green onions before serving.
