Cherry Suprises

These cookies are so easy but so good. Candied cherries wrapped in cookie dough and drizzled with chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines Home-Style Golden Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 36 candied cherries
  • 1/2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. shortening

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. Prepare cookie mix as directed on pkg. Shape thin layer of dough around each cherry. Place 2-inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes or until set but not browned. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Remove to cooling racks. Cool completely. Combine chips and shortening in microwave-safe bowl. Drizzle chocolate over cookies. Allow drizzle to set before storing between layers of waxed paper in airtight container.

Yield: 3-3 1/2 dozen cookies
