  • 2lbs beef, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons black bean paste
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Heat the oil in a large skillet and add the beef. Season with salt and pepper and cook until tender. Steam the green beans until crisp. Rinse with cold water. In a bowl, mix together the bean paste, soy sauce, water and cornstarch until smooth. Add the sauce, cooked beef and green beans into a wok. Stirring constantly, cook for about 3-5 minutes to coat well. Serve once the sauce has thickened.
