Chicken and Rice Casserole

A simple dish that's sure to please - no matter the crowd.

Ingredients

  • 1 C. instant rice
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 pkg. dry onion soup
  • 1 1/2 can water
  • 1 C. whole chicken

Directions

Mix all ingredients except chicken in a 9x13-inch baking pan. Add cut up chicken parts, skin side up. Bake covered 2 hours at 350 degrees or 3 hours at 300 degrees.

  • I agree, the ingredients are a bit confusing, thank goodness it's clarified in the directions, but I'm always wary of using uncooked rice in a casserole, it's never turned out right for me! Instant or no

  • 2 cans of soup and 1/2 pkg dry soup!! What's the sodium content of this recipe?

  • It calls for 1 C. whole chicken - should it be 1 whole chicken? It also states it yields 1 serving, which obviously isn't correct.
