Chicken Barbecue Sauce

The annual Mother's Day family dinner usually attracted 50 or so family members. As a child, I can remember the mothers busy in the kitchen while the men built the BBQ pit and grilled the chicken halves. All the cousins played in the yard, renewing friendships and creating memories. The following recipe prepared by my Mom for BBQ sauce was enough for the occasion, and I often prepare just one half of the ingredients for a smaller version.

Directions

Combine all ingredients. Baste often with sauce while turning on the grill. Sprinkle 3-4 times with salt. My Uncle could tell the doneness of the chicken just by twisting the leg. Another method would be to cook until the juices are clear.
