Chicken Liver Savory Snack
Ingredients
- 6 chicken livers
- 12 slices bacon
- Soy sauce
- 12 water chestnuts, halved, (nuts could be substituted) brown sugar
Directions
Cut chicken livers into quarters and bacon in half. Marinate approximately
4 hours in soy sauce to cover. Drain, make slits in chicken liver pieces and insert the slices of water chestnuts. Dip in brown sugar. Wrap half slices of bacon around the chicken livers and chestnuts and fasten with toothpick. Dip again in brown sugar. Arrange the appetizers on a rack in a roasting pan. Bake in hot oven, 400 degrees about 20-30 minutes, until bacon is crisp. Turn occasionally.
Yield: 2 dozen snacks
