  • 1 (32-ounce) package frozen seasoned french fries
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chili

Prepare french fries according to package directions. In a small cup, stir cornstarch and water until cornstarch dissolves. Set aside. Pour milk and margarine into a saucepan and bring to a boil while consistently stirring. Reduce heat and whisk cornstarch mixture into milk mixture. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook and stir until mixture is thick and has a smooth consistency. Add cheese and stir until cheese melts and is thoroughly combined. Prepare chili according to package directions. Pour chili and cheese sauce over french fries and serve.
