A crisp salad that can be served as a side salad or as a meal.

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1/2 green onions; bunch, chopped
  • 2 packages Ramen Noodles; uncooked and broken into pieces (discard seasonings)
  • 2 Tbs. sunflower seeds
  • 1 C. sliced almonds
  • /4 C. margarine
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. oil
  • 1/4 C. red wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbs. soy sauce

Chop cabbage in medium pieces, add chopped green onions. Brown noodles, sunflower seeds, almonds in margarine (set aside to cool). Boil sugar, oil, vinegar, and soy sauce, cool completely. Toss everything together just before serving. Doesn't keep well overnight because of the consistency.

  • I do not understand why so many recipes feel the need to add sugar! Then don't get me started on the margarine and oil.... if you must use oil, then use olive oil for savory and coconut oil for sweet..... seriously now!
