Chocolate Angel Dessert
Ingredients
- ½ lb. chocolate chips or 1 square chocolate
- 1 ½ tsp. water
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 tsp. confectioners sugar
- 4 egg whites, beaten stiff
- ½ C. nuts
- 1 C. cream, whipped
- 1 large angel food cake
Directions
Melt chocolate in top of double boiler. Add water, then egg yolks, one at a time, stirring constantly. Beat well over low heat. When blended, remove from heat and add confectioners sugar. Fold in egg whites and nuts. Set aside to cool. Fold whipped cream into cooled mixture. Break angel food cake into a buttered 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Cover with chocolate sauce and chill until firm.
Yield: 12 to 15 servings.
