  • 3 bananas
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Blend the bananas in a food processor until they are smooth and transfer the puree to a large bowl. Add the melted butter and stir. Stir in the salt and brown sugar and then stir in the egg and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, allspice, and cocoa. Combine the two bowls and stir until well mixed. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into a buttered loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Let the banana bread cool before slicing the bread.
