Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients
- 1 C. sugar
- 3 Tbs. flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 C. milk
- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, broken into small pieces
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
- 1 Tbs. orange liqueur
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, flour and salt. Whisk in milk until combined. Add chocolate and cook over medium-low heat, whisking frequently until smooth and thick and chocolate is melted. This should take 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in chocolate mixture. When all the chocolate is combined with butter, stir in orange liqueur and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate until spreadable, about 15 minutes.
