  • 1 pkg. fudge cake mix
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Frosting:
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 5 Tbs. butter
  • 1 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13 pan. Combine first 4 ingredients by hand, and stir until well mixed. Pour into the pan. Bake 25-30 minutes.

For the frosting, combine sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan. Boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over cake. Cool and cut into serving pieces.

  • For the frosting you mentioned adding milk to the sugar and butter but I don't see how much milk it needs.

  • I've used this recipe for years. Awsome. For large groups, I make 2, fill the center with chocolate pudding or coolwhip , frost with with coolwhip & garnish with cherries & chocolate curls.
