Chocolate Cherry Cake
- 1 pkg. fudge cake mix
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 21 oz. can cherry pie filling
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 C. sugar
- 5 Tbs. butter
- 1 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13 pan. Combine first 4 ingredients by hand, and stir until well mixed. Pour into the pan. Bake 25-30 minutes.
For the frosting, combine sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan. Boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Pour over cake. Cool and cut into serving pieces.
