Chocolate Chip Kisses Cookies

- 48 Hershey Kisses (milk chocolate or almond flavor)
- 1 C. (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
- 1/3 C. granulated sugar
- 1/3 C. packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 C. all-purpose flour
- 1 C. Hershey's mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Chocolate Drizzle:
- 1/4 C. Hershey's mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. shortening
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Remove wrappers from chocolates. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Add flour to butter mixture; blend until smooth. Stir in small chocolate chips. Mold scant tablespoon dough around each chocolate piece, covering completely. Shape into balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Prepare chocolate drizzle (recipe below) and drizzle over each cookie.
Place 1/4 C. Hersheys mini semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 tsp. shortening in small microwave bowl. Microwave at medium heat for 30 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at medium heat for an additional 10 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval, until chocolate is melted.
