  • 2 C. milk
  • 3 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 C. flour
  • 1/3 C. sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 4 egg whites
  • toasted sliced almonds, for topping

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Butter and sugar a 1 1/2-quart souffle or pudding dish.  Melt chocolate in 1/2 cup of milk.  Add remaining milk.  Beat together egg yolks and sugar.  Add vanilla and almond flavorings.  Add flour and chocolate milk mixture.  Beat egg whites until they stand in soft peaks.  Stir egg whites into pudding mixture with a wire whisk.  Bake 50 minutes or until it appears set.  Sprinkle with toasted sliced almonds.
