Chocolate Fudge

Yet another fudge recipe, but this one uses vanilla to add something to the flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (8 squares) Baker's semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2/3 C. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. walnuts, chopped

Directions

Microwave chocolate and milk in 1 1/2 quart microwave bowl on High 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla, salt and walnuts. Spread in greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours. Cut.

  • This is a keeper recipe--no need foro a candy thermometer, boiling liquids--totally easy. I omit the salt.

    And easy upgrade to make the fudge even smoother is to stir 1/2 jar of marshmallow creme (usually 3-4 oz) in--you can stir it in thoroughly or leave it slightly swirled for a beautiful look. Instead of, or in place of , you could add 1/2 c. of white chocolate chips. This is a completely versatile recipe--and easy to keep all the ingredients on hand!
