  • 8 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1 cup skinned and toasted hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Blend the hazelnuts, flour, and ½ the chocolate chips in a food processor until the nuts are chopped. Transfer to a bowl and set aside the mixture. Put the rest of the chocolate and the sugar in the food processor and blend. Slowly add the hot water and blend until the chocolate is melted. Then add the butter in pieces, the eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon. Blend until it is well mixed and add the hazelnut mixture back to the food processor. Pulse to mix and then pour the mixture into a buttered pie dish. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees F. Cool for 1 hour and then refrigerate for 2 hours.
