Chocolate Meringue Drops

This is a quick and delicious no-fat, no-carb dessert. Warm out of the oven, it's like eating a chocolate kiss!

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp. salt, optional
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 2 tsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa

Add whites and salt to bowl and with mixer, beat until peaks form. Add 1/2 cup sugar and combine. Combine water and vanilla in cup and gradually add to mixture, alternating with sugar. Add cocoa and combine well. Drop onto cookie sheet by teaspoon. Bake 30 minutes at 250 degrees. Remove to cooling rack and store in airtight container. If they are too hard they are over cooked.

  • On the Chocolate meringues I am wondering aboout the carbs ..It said there are no carbs doesn't the cup of sugar add carbs?
