Chocolate Pound Cake with Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing

Ingredients
- 3 C. sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1 C. crisco
- 6 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 C. buttermilk
- 3 C. flour (plain)
- 6 Tbs. cocoa
- 1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
- Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing:
- 1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 2 blocks chocolate
Directions
Cream butter, Crisco and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla flavoring. Sift flour three times measuring after each sifting. Add cocoa and cream of tartar. Sift once more. Add flour and milk alternately - starting with flour and ending with flour. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees until done - about 1 1/2 hours. Ice with icing from recipe below.Icing:
Melt chocolate in two tablespoons of water. Mix all ingredients with mixer. Use half the icing for pound cake.
