  • 1 pound of fresh cherries, pitted
  • ½ cup of Kirsch
  • 1 chocolate pound cake, store bought
  • 3 cups of cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 8 maraschino cherries
  • 4 ounces of dark chocolate, shaved

First, pit the cherries. Combine the cherries with kirsch and let it side for one hour. For great taste, leave it overnight. Drain the cherries, but be sure to save the liquid separately.
Take the 1 pound chocolate bake and cut it into bite size cubes.
In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, mix the cream till it has a soft and fluffy form. Slowly combine the sugar, and vanilla extract with the fluffy cream cheese until it peaks form.
Using a straight-sided trifle dish, begin to layer the trifle by starting off with cubed chocolate pound cake. Then drizzle with kirsch and add the cherries. Layer the cherries with the cream to cover. Continues to layer until you end with the cream.
Refrigerate the trifle for 2-4 hours.
Garnish the trifle with shaved dark chocolate and cherries.
