  • 4 pork chops
  • salt and pepper
  • Hungarian Smoked Paprika
  • 1 C. water
  • 1/2 C. finely chopped celery
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 1 Tbs. dry parsley flakes
  • 1/4 C. cold water
  • 2/3 C. evaporated milk
  • 1 3 oz. can sliced mushrooms

Season pork chops with salt, pepper and paprika.  In skillet, brown chops slowly on both sides.  Drain off excess fat.  Add cup of water, the celery and soup mix.  Cover and cook over low heat 20 minutes.  Turn chops and continue cooking 15-20 minutes more, until chops are tender.  Remove chops from skillet.  Combine flour, parsley flakes and the 1/4 c. cold water.  Blend into pan juices.  Add evaporated milk and mushrooms.  Cook and stir over low heat until thickened and boiling.  Serve a little gravy over chops.
