  • l gallon green tomatoes, chopped
  • l gallon cabbage, chopped
  • l qt. white onions, chopped
  • l/2 C. salt
  • 1 1/2 qt. water
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 2 large green peppers, chopped
  • 1 Tbs. pepper

Pack first 4 ingredients in layers in stone crock and leave it for six hours. Drain in cheesecloth bag overnight. Add water and vinegar and bring to a boil. Add green peppers and white pepper. Mix thoroughly. Bring to boiling point. Put into sterilizied jars and seal.
