Special Mother's Day Entry I love Christmas time, not because of the presents, but because that's when mom made Christmas candy and cookies. As I grew older I helped her and this past year was the best as my nieces helped out. Passing on this tradition that my mom started has been wonderful. She didn't have a mother to give her traditions to pass on, but she made her own, for us. This one is a family favorite. And my nieces had a ball trying to make it like grandmas.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/2 bag mini colored marshmallows
  • 1 small bag walnut pieces
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

Mix together melted chocolate, marshmallows and walnuts. Take a piece of wax paper and sprinkle it liberally with powdered sugar put one third of mixture on top of sugar and shape into a roll fold the wax paper around the roll making sure powdered sugar is in between mixture and paper all over. Do the same to other two and put into the refrigerator. When chilled cut into about 1/2-inch round.

  • Added information: These are no bake cookies, so--no baking. You do roll them into the shape of a log, being sure to keep the sugar coating the dough so it doesn't stick to the wax paper. Once hard, remove the paper and make slices 1/2 inch thick. You will have three logs all together because you separate your mixture into three parts.

  • I make these every christmas and they are one of my favorit.
Once you have the chocolate mixture on the wax paper you roll it up like a log and chill in the refrigirator till hard. Then remove from wax paper cut into slices and serve. It's more like a confection than a cookie. Very nice addition to a dessert tray.

  • I assume you shape it into a log? Also, what temperature do you bake it at and for how long?

  • Sorry, but you need more detail on the directions. Do you make a ball out of the mixture or oblong like a hot dog? What do these look like?

  • Is this recipe complete? What are you supposed to do with them? Are they cookies? Could you explain the rolling up process with the powdered sugar? I find this recipe to be vague and hard to understand.
