  • 7 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 C. half-and-half
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 T. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 6 thick slices cinnamon-raisin bread
  • 4 T. unsalted butter
  • maple syrup

Preheat your oven to 350° F. In a shallow baking dish, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place each slice of bread in egg mixture and let soak for 20 minutes. In a large skillet, melt two tablespoons of butter and work in batches to cook bread until golden brown. Transfer bread to a baking sheet and place in oven for 20 minutes. Remove and serve with maple syrup.
