  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 C. warm milk
  • 1/2 C. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 C. margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 C. flour
  • 1 C. packed brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 T. cinnamon
  • 1/3 C. margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 C. powdered sugar
  • 1/4 C. cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 8 T. margarine

In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and add sugar, 1/3-cup margarine, salt, flour and eggs. Using your hands, transfer dough to a floured surface and knead into a large ball. Return to bowl, cover, and let rise until dough has doubled. Preheat your oven to 400°F and lightly grease a baking sheet. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough until it is about 1/4 –inch thick. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread 1/3-cup of softened margarine on top of dough and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. From the longer edge, roll up the dough. Cut into one-inch cookie slices and place on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla, salt, and remaining margarine until fluffy. Remove the cookies from the oven and spread with icing mixture. Serve warm.
