  • 2 C. water
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. ginger
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. allspice
  • 3 T. maple syrup, divided
  • ¾ C. milk
  • Star anise or cinnamon sticks for garnish

In a saucepan, boil your water and whisk in cloves, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. Remove pan from heat and allow to steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Return to heat, add tea bags and maple syrup, and bring to a boil. Once again, remove from heat and steep for another 5 minutes. Strain and set aside. In a separate saucepan, heat milk, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, and a pinch of cinnamon until it just begins to boil. Remove from heat and whisk rapidly or blend with an immersion blender until frothy. Pour ½ cup of your prepared tea into a mug and top with the frothy mixture. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and enjoy.
