This classic South American dish will wow your family and friends. Enjoy on its own or try it with a warm corn tortilla with lettuce and salsa.

  • 2 lbs fresh red snapper fillets completely deboned and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped seeded tomatoes
  • 1 serrano chili, seeded and finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • Dash ground oregano
  • Dash of tabasco or light pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Cilantro
  • Avocado

Place fish, onions, tomatoes, chili, salt, tabasco and oregano in casserole dish. Cover with lime and lemon juice. Let sit covered in the refrigerator for an hour. Stir, making sure more of the fish gets exposed to the lime and lemon juices. Let sit for several hours to let flavors blend. Serve with chopped cilantro and slices of avocado.
