Broiled crawfish is a classic Texan dish that is perfect for a picnic or barbecue. If you can't get your hands on fresh crawfish, you can use shrimp instead.

  • 12 cloves of garlic
  • 4 lbs of crawfish
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 lemons, cut into slices
  • 3 stalks of celery, chopped
  • A bag of ice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of crab boil

Pour garlic, onion, lemons, celery, and crab boil in a large pot. Add four quarts of water. Boil the liquid for five minutes, and then add the crawfish. Cook the crawfish for five minutes in the boiling water and then remove them from heat. Add the ice and let the crawfish sit for 15 minutes.

After the crawfish have rested, move them to a large serving bowl. Remove heads and tails, peeling the shell off the tails. Serve crawfish garnished with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce
