Nothing says festival or state fair like the funnel cake and it's interweaving dribbles of fried batter. Spice this recipe up by sprinkling powdered sugar on top of the funnel cake mixture!

  • 3 eggs
  • 1⁄4 C sugar
  • 2 C milk
  • 3 2⁄3 C flour
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • vegetable oil

Beat eggs and sugar together in bowl then add milk slowly. Beat, add dry ingredients and beat more until batter is smooth and creamy.

Pour batter into a funnel with a plugged bottom. Heat 2 inches of oil in large cast iron pot.

When the oil becomes hot, unplug funnel and dribble batter into pot in circles. Cook, browning batter on both sides, then quickly remove, drain well, and serve.
