Classic McDonald's Big Mac
Serving Size / Yield
- 1 1/2 pounds of ground chuck
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 5 cup mayonnaise
- 10 tablespoons India relish, drained
- 2 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 10 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
- 5 slices of American cheese
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 15 dill pickle slices
To begin with the Big Mac sauce, mix the mayonnaise, relish, sugar and Thousand Island dressing in a bowl and let it all stand for 20 minutes. Allow sauce to sit overnight if necessary.
Combine the ground chuck, salt and pepper in a bowl. Shape the ground chuck into 10 thin patties. Set your griddle to 350 degrees F. Cook meat for 4 minutes and season with salt and pepper. Flip burgers and cook for an additional 4 minutes. Place butter on cut sides of bun and place the buns on the griddle. Allow bread to toast until it turns brown.
Build the Big Mac starting with the bottom bun, then the Big Mac sauce, onions, lettuce, cheese, hamburger patty, middle bun, additional Big Mac sauce, onion, lettuce, hamburger patty, 3 pickle slices and end with the top bun. Serve.
