Classy French Onion Dip
Serving Size / Yield
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 2 onions sliced into rings
- 2 shallots sliced into rings
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoons celery salt
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Finely chopped chives for garnish
In a large pan, heat butter and sauté the onions on low heat till golden brown. This entire process will take 30 minutes.
Add the garlic when the onions are cooked through and then heat gently. Remove from heat and let it cool
Finely chop the onion mixture and set aside
In a large bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together and then add the onions. Mix well and chill for 2 hours.
Serve cold garnished with the chives and with potato chips or sandwiches.
