A can of Coca-Cola adds a certain je ne sais quoi to this simple cake.

Ingredients

2 C. sugar
2 C. flour
1 1/2 C. chopped marshmallows
1/4 C. shortening
1/2 C. margarine
3 Tbs. cocoa
1 C. Coca-Cola
1/2 C. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
Icing:
1/2 C. margarine
3 Tbs. cocoa
6 Tbs. Coca-Cola
1 box powdered sugar
1 C. pecans, chopped

Directions

Sift together flour and sugar. Stir in marshmallows and set aside. Bring the following to a boil: shortening, margarine, cocoa and Coke and pour over dry mixture. Stir in buttermilk, soda and eggs. Pour in greased tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Icing: Bring margarine, cocoa and coke to boil. When smooth, remove from fire and add sugar and pecans. Ice cake as desired.
