CONTEST WINNER: Bon Bon Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 C. soft butter
- 3/4 C. sifted powdered sugar
- 1 Tbs. vanilla
- 1 1/2 C. sifted flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- food coloring if desired
- Filling options:
- Green and Red Maraschino cherries, chocolate chips, nuts.
- Frosting options:
- Canned plain vanilla frosting, softened, tinted half red and half green
- cocoa powder
Directions
Soften butter to room temperature. Mix the next 5 ingredients with the butter. Take about 1 inch of dough, roll a piece of fruit or nut in the center and mold into a ball. Bake at 350 degrees 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet for 12-15 minutes. When cooled, roll cookies in the softened frosting or cocoa powder.
